  27.   Just a note: There are even fewer Amiga PowerPC compilers than there are
  28. Amiga 060 compilers. And even fewer PPC CPU cards than 060 CPU cards.

  30.   Also, I'm not sure 060-optimization is such a big thing. As I've mentioned
  31. before, people from Motorola, and other 040-experts have indicated that no
  32. special optimization is really necessary for the 060. IE: If it's tweaked
  33. right for an 040, it's tweaked right for an 060.

  35.   The only reason that special 040-optimization was necessary was that
  36. Motorola actually REMOVED instructions that were in the previous FPU
  37. (the 68881/68882) and replaced them with mediocre software-emulation.
  38. In the 060, many of these instructions have been put back. So you can run
  39. either 882-optimized code, or 040-optimized code, with no speed penalties.
